External Opportunities
Grants and contracts can be awarded by a variety of funding sources; typically funding competitions originate through government agencies, foundations, and some corporate entities. Government grants sometimes operate on short notice. But, in many cases, they are repetitive, so if we miss a deadline, we can start preparing for the next cycle’s application date.

Federal & State Funding
Grants.gov lists all current discretionary funding opportunities from 26 agencies of the United States government, including the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy, and many others -- in other words, all the most important public funders of research in the United States.
