Requirements & Deadlines

Before you begin the application process, it is important to note that international students on temporary visas are not eligible for financial aid. Although all admitted students are awarded an academic merit scholarship, international students are expected to pay the remainder of their cost of attendance.

Note: The discovery of fraudulent or plagiarized documentation within submitted materials, at any point in your matriculation to the university, will result in an immediate denial or revocation of your acceptance offer. This action includes the forfeiture of any associated application fees, enrollment fees, and other relevant charges.

International Timeline for Fall 2025

August 1, 2024 Fall 2025 application opens.
February 1, 2025 The issuing of Fall 2024 I-20s begin.
May 1 National Decision Day. Enrollment Deposits are refundable* up until this date.
June 1 Fall payment plan options open.
June 12 Last day for completed applications to be reviewed for Fall Term.
June 18 Last day to deposit for Fall Term.
July 1 Fall Term bill is due.
Mid-August 2025 Move-In and Mandatory Dolphin Dive-In Orientation.
August 18, 2025 Start of Fall Term.

International Timeline for Spring 2025

June 1, 2024 Spring 2025 application opens.
July 1 The issuing of Spring 2025 I-20s begin.
October 20 Last day for completed applications to be reviewed for Spring Term.
October 31 Last day to deposit for Spring Term.
November 1 Spring payment plans open.
December 1 Spring Term bill is due.
Early January 2025 Move-In and Accelerated Dolphin Dive-In Orientation.
January 13, 2025 Start of Spring Term.

 

*If you deferred from the academic year prior, your Enrollment Deposit is no longer refundable. I.E. you were supposed to start Spring 2024 or Fall 2024 but deferred.

Demonstrated English proficiency is required of all non-native English speaking international students who come from a country where English is not spoken amongst the masses.

Students may demonstrate proficiency by submitting one of the following:

Additionally, international applicants who demonstrate academic achievement through the completion of one of the following may have the English proficiency requirement waived, subject to review by the Office of Admissions:

  • Completion of at least 24 semester credits at an accredited college or university in the U.S.
  • Completion of English Composition or an equivalent course, with a grade of "C" or higher, at an accredited college or university in the U.S.
  • Completion of an English as a Second Language program at an accredited college or university in the U.S.

Applicants who are applying to 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ with college/university credits that were received outside of the U.S. will need to complete a course-by-course foreign credential evaluation. The college/university transcript will not be reviewed without this evaluation completed and an official copy must be sent by the organization that made it.

Most evaluations are valid for 5 years, however, this may vary depending upon the evaluation organization. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure the evaluation is valid up until the date of matriculation.

(formally SpanTran) is a NACES-member company that evaluates non-U.S. transcripts. They have created a custom application for JU students to help students get the right kind of evaluation at a discounted rate. Students can access their application by .

Freshman/First-Time Student

  1. Submit an application through the JU Application or . 
  2. Upload the following materials as a part of your application: 
    • High School/Upper Secondary School Transcripts.
    • Official Proof of English Proficiency.
    • SAT/ACT scores are optional. 
      • Required in order to be reviewed for JU's Honors Program, University Scholars Program, and Freshman Nursing Program.
    • Recommended: at least 1 letter of recommendation and essay.
  3. Once the Office of Admissions has all your materials, please allow them 4-5 weeks to review your application. If you have questions, please contact your admissions counselor. 

Transfer Student

  1. Submit an application through the JU Application or . 
  2. Upload the following materials as a part of your application: 
    • Your current university transcripts.
      • An official NACES Foreign Credit Evaluation is required for institutions outside the U.S.
    • High School/Upper Secondary School Transcripts. 
      • Only for students in progress in their first year in university.
    • Official Proof of English Proficiency.
    • SAT/ACT scores are optional.
      • Required in order to be reviewed for JU's Honors Program, University Scholars Program.
    • Recommended: at least 1 letter of recommendation and essay 
  3. Once the Office of Admissions has all your materials, please allow them 4-5 weeks to review your application. If you have questions, please contact your admissions counselor. 

Second Degree Seeking Student

For those who have earned a Bachelor's Degree/4-Year Degree already and who wish to pursue another one.

Before you begin the application process, please note that Second Degree Seeking Students are not eligible for the academic merit scholarship and are expected to pay the full cost of attendance. 

  1. Submit an application through the JU Application or . 
  2. Upload the following materials as a part of your application:
    • Complete transcripts showing conferral of prior degree(s).
      • An official NACES Foreign Credit Evaluation is required for institutions outside the U.S.
    • Official Proof of English Proficiency.
    • Recommended: at least 1 letter of recommendation and essay.
  3. Once the Office of Admissions has all your materials, please allow them 4-5 weeks to review your application. If you have questions, please contact your admissions counselor.
