Together, our goal is to 鈥渞ow鈥� the entire Florida coastline鈥�2,909,694 meters! Stop by the Swisher Science Green, cheer on our rowers, and put some meters on the erg yourself. The law school will be presenting an afternoon CLE (Continuing Legal Education) panel discussion on constitutional changes including the upcoming Florida Constitution Taxation & Budget Reform Commission (TBRC). The TBRC is an official state commission that meets every 20 years to examine the state's revenue and budgeting processes. Established by the Florida Constitution, it holds the rare power to refer tax and budget-related amendments directly to Florida voters. It last met in 2008 and its next constitutional term will begin in 2027- 2028. This panel explores the potential issues and evolution of this commission, insights on past commissions by past members, and their impact on Florida. The panel discussion will be followed by a cocktail reception at the law school.
