Students are encouraged to meet with their Thrive Coach on a regular basis to engage in long-term academic planning and proactive decision-making. It is recommended that you meet with either your Thrive Coach or your Faculty Advisor at least once a semester.

What to expect from meeting with your Thrive Coach:

• Your Thrive Coach has a central office in the Student Enrichment Center, located in the Davis Student Commons. You can make an appointment with your Thrive Coach through Starfish or walk-in to the Enrichment Center. Walk-in appointments may be seen by another available Thrive Coach depending on the current demand.
• During your meeting, your Thrive Coach will work to understand your current questions and needs while ensuring you are familiar with the following:
  • Campus Tools: Self-Service, Suitable, PODs
  • Your Degree Audit
  • Course Planning
• Your Thrive Coach is interested in your holistic student experience. Struggling to attend classes? Chances are, your Thrive Coach already knows and is prepared to help you get back on track! 
• It’s a good idea to come prepared with your questions or concerns, but your Thrive Coach is here even if you just need a friendly check-in.  

Where to learn more about your Faculty Advisor: 

• Your Faculty Advisor is assigned based on your major. They are the expert in your field and work to keep you on track within your specific major plan and with your career goals in mind. 
• You can find your Faculty Advisor in Self-Service and schedule with them individually through contacting their JU Email.  

Incoming JU Students:

• As an incoming freshman or transfer student at 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, your Thrive Coach will register you for classes. You will be prompted in your enrollment process to complete a Course Registration Survey. Once complete, your Thrive Coach will register you and email you to set up your first appointment! Incoming Spring students typically receive outreach in December, and incoming Fall students typically begin receiving outreach in May.
