Appointments

New Student Advising

Intended for incoming freshmen and transfer students, this appointment allows for in-depth discussion and academic planning. 

New Student Web/Video Appointment: meet with your advisor face-to-face to review curricular requirements, course schedule, and discuss academic plan. You'll have the opportunity to navigate resources together with your advisor in real-time. The meeting will be held through Microsoft Teams, and you will receive an email confirmation which includes a link to the meeting. The meeting may also appear on your calendar. New students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the web/video appointment until we can meet you face-to-face upon return to campus.

  • You will receive a link to the web/video appointment in the confirmation and reminder emails. It may also appear on your electronic calendar. If you cannot find the link, please email your advisor  prior to the scheduled meeting to obtain the link.
  • Be prepared to log in and use your webcam and computer or phone audio.

New Student Phone Appointment: students who do not have access to a computer or would prefer to meet by phone may schedule a phone appointment. Make sure to include an accurate phone number. Your advisor will call you at your appointment time. If your advisor calls from a non-JU phone, it may appear as "unknown caller." Please answer if you receive such a notification at your scheduled appointment time.


Continuing Student Advising

Intended for continuing students (freshmen and sophomores) and follow-up for incoming students who have specific questions and topics to discuss, want to confirm or revise an academic plan, or require assistance in decision-making or problem-resolution.

Continuing Student Web/Video Appointment: meet with an advisor face-to-face to review curricular requirements, course schedule, and discuss academic plan. You'll have the opportunity to navigate resources together with your advisor in real-time. Drop-in Advising

During the fall and spring semesters, drop-in advising is available to students who have quick questions and only require 10-15 minutes of time. Assistance is on a first-come, first-served basis. .

Students who would like dedicated time to engage in academic planning, problem-solving, or decision-making are encouraged to make an appointment.
