2019 Summer Schedule Friday, May 3, 2019, at 3:00 p.m.
To our 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ faculty and staff —
My personal thanks to each of you for the outstanding job you continue to do each day serving our students. We are making substantial progress in many important areas, and you should take great pride in the emerging 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ.
I am pleased to announce we will be continuing a JU tradition with the University conducting a modified summer work schedule. Beginning with Friday, June 7, and concluding with Friday, July 26, the work day for these Fridays will be 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Let’s work hard to meet our increasing need to have in place staff that can serve prospective and current students, as well as our colleagues across campus. These needs exist every day, for the entire year. Also, there are several days during the summer that are critical to the institution that will require more robust staffing across the entire campus. To ensure that we can meet this challenge, we are again giving Department Managers the flexibility to alter the modified Friday schedule as they see fit in order to maintain a minimum staff every Friday through the normal close of business while also allowing every employee a total of eight ½-day benefits. Department Managers are empowered to do this by rotating one or more employees through a full Friday and allowing those employees to use a ½ day during an alternative day of the week, or by formulating a schedule that best suits that department’s demands.
The Post Office will be staffed to process and receive mail. However, as usual, the request is that large mailings not be scheduled on Fridays.
We are pleased to once again offer these benefits for you to enjoy time with your friends and family. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Human Resources at extension 7025.
Again, thank you for outstanding performance as we continue building a better University together.
Sincerely,
Tim Cost
President
