Music in Sorrento
This five week summer program will bring students to Sorrento, Italy to discover and experience locations foundational to the evolution of vocal performance practice and drama. Students will explore artifacts and museums as well as attend live concerts as part of this experience.
This course will satisfy the Fine Arts core curriculum credit for all students. It may also satisfy MUS 328 Opera/Musical Theater credits, or a MUS elective for MUS majors or minors.

On-Site Program Costs
$4,790 - $5,060 + airfare (subject to change, based on number of travelers)
*This price range is determined based on enrollment. The final on-site program cost will be determined after the application and deposit deadline has passed. The $350 deposit is deducted from the total on-site program cost.

Course
MUS 476 (3 credits): Be Italian! Commedia dell'arte to Musical Theatre in Italy
No pre-requisites
Fulfills Fine Arts core curriculum for all students. For Opera/Musical Theatre students this may fulfill MUS 328, or a MUS elective.
This program also fulfills JU’s Experiential Learning undergraduate requirement for graduation.

Kimberly Beasley
Professor of Voice
Kimberly holds a Bachelor's in Music Theatre from the University of Colorado, a Master of Music from Valparaiso University and a post-graduate Certificate of Vocal Performance from Northwestern University where she studied with Sunny Joy Langton and coached with Sherrill Milnes.
She has taught at 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ since 2008 and her students can be seen performing in Broadway tours, on cruise ships, as members of young artist programs, in television and film, as well as with equity theaters across the country. She has taught university courses in applied theory, opera scenes, vocal pedagogy, music theatre workshop, and opera history at 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, Valparaiso University, Northwestern University, and the Graham School of the University of Chicago.
