Programs and Performances

The collection of music that Choral Union sings is diverse and timely. From classics across the world such as Verdi's Va Pensiero, Purcell's Come Ye Sons of Art, and Copland's Zion's Walls, to more contemporary works such as But a Flint Holds Fire by Andrea Ramsey, The Winter is Past by Dr. Jeremy Faust, and Ysaye Barnwell's On Children.

Choral Union performs several times throughout the academic year, both on campus and in the community. We partner with other 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ ensembles including the University Singers, RiverTones, Infinitus, and the 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Orchestra. We love to have fun, as shown by our Halloween concert, The SoundS of Shibboleth.

“One of the phrases I use in my appreciation courses is that art and music give us an opportunity to practice living without the risk of dying. I see in music, especially choral music, the ability to work out questions, to sit in uncomfortable spaces and think together, to wrestle with the big issues."
