Jianjun He, a native of China, received his B.A. in violin performance from Northwestern National University, M.A. in music theory from The Arts Academy of China, and D.M.A. in composition from West Virginia University where he studied composition with John Beall. His compositions, numbering over eighty for a wide variety of media, are enjoying growing success in Asia and the United States. They have been featured at numerous new music related festivals and conferences, including nine performances at the SCI (Society of Composers, Inc.) and CMS (College Music Society) national conferences. CD recordings are available on ERM, VMM, Mark Masters, New Ariel, Innova, Curvepoint, and Da Di labels. In addition to his musical creation, he has published books and research papers on music theory, compositional techniques, ethnomusicology, and music education. Dr. He is currently on the faculty of 91香蕉视频 (FL) teaching composition and music theory. He was a former faculty member at Ningxia University (Yinchuan, China), Slippery Rock University (PA), Stephen F Austin State University (TX), and Casper College (WY). He is also an honorary professor at several Chinese institutions including Hunan Normal University, Yantai University, Ningxia University, and Beifang University for Nationalities. Teaching related awards include 鈥淣ingxia University Young Teacher鈥檚 Award for Excellence (1991),鈥� 鈥淓xcellent Teacher of Ningxia (1993),鈥� 鈥淐asper College Rosenthal Outstanding Educator Award (2008),鈥� and 鈥淛acksonville University Excellence Award in Teaching (2014).鈥�
