Biography
Katie Webber is a graphic designer, educator, and creative strategist whose work bridges professional practice and academic inquiry. She serves as a graphic design professor at 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ, where she teaches typography, visual communication, and digital media through a studio-based, hands-on approach that emphasizes concept development, systems thinking, and real-world application.
Webber holds a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic and Digital Design from Jacksonville University and a Master of Arts in Digital Journalism and Digital Design from the University of South Florida. A proud 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ alumna, she integrates both advanced design research and digital media strategy into her teaching. Her philosophy centers on preparing students for contemporary design careers by embedding professional process, critique, and collaboration into the classroom experience.
Prior to transitioning fully into academia, Webber led university-wide marketing and creative teams, directing large-scale campaigns and developing cohesive visual systems across departments and platforms. She partnered with national brands and agencies, guiding projects from strategy through execution. Her professional work has received recognition from the American Marketing Association, the MarCom Awards, and the Education Advertising Awards.
Her creative research explores design psychology and data visualization, with a focus on how visual systems influence clarity, engagement, and decision-making. She is particularly interested in the relationship between storytelling, information design, and user experience.
